Surprise! Rush Limbaugh is a total fucker.

Yes, not the most eloquent critique, but hey, it’s 12:53am, and I haven’t blogged in months, so I’m sleepy, lazy, and rusty all at once. But anyhow, this from an ABC News article on Michael J. Fox’s commercial in which he endorses Tammy Duckworth, an Illinois Democratic congressional candidate who backs stem cell research:

…conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh … leveled a false and offensive charge against the entertainer.

“In this commercial, he is exaggerating the effects of the disease,” Limbaugh said Monday on his radio show. “He is moving all around and shaking. And it’s purely an act. This is the only time I have ever seen Michael J. Fox portray any of the symptoms of the disease he has.”

Limbaugh said Fox “either didn’t take his medication or he’s acting.”

After listeners contacted the conservative radio talk show host and told him it wasn’t an act, Limbaugh apologized for his statements a tad, but by that time the television spot, as well as his own comments, had become the focus of a widespread, national discussion.

Don’t really have much to say; this just made me hella mad. Finally, something that makes me angry enough to blog again!

Just kidding. Of course there have been tons of things that have made me angry enough to blog, I just haven’t gotten around to the actual blogging part. This was just the right article at the right time, I suppose. Let’s hope that happy coincidence happens more in the near future.

you know, its funny. i was just thinking the other day about what a fake that ronald raegan is. i mean, come on! alzheimer’s? just cuz he looses his keys all the time doesn’t mean he has some disability. its just a liberal plot to turn us all into homosexual commies. i don’t know how yet, but i’m sure it is. 😉

nice to have you back in the blogosphere. seems like a lot of us took some time off.

    You’re back!

    And yes. Yes, he is.

And he didn’t fucking apologize, either. He offered a disjunct apology, typically used by politicians: “If I was wrong, then I apologize.”

Rush is useless. That said, the profound ignorance surrounding stem cell research angers me more. That the media seems complicit in keeping people ignorant angers me yet more. The debate is almost always named “stem cell research”. You yourself did so in your post. But that’s a meaningless and deceptive phase. There are two very different kinds of stem cell research.

Adult stem cell research does not require the death/destruction of anything living. ASCR also has a proven track record producing brilliant therapeutic results. ASCR is not what is being opposed or considered controversial.

Embryonic stem cell research requires the destruction of a living (genenetically human) organism to harvest its cellular parts. ESCR has not produced any therapeutic results. Actually, in the lab, ESCR experiments have produced bizarre, destructive results…because those damned embryonic cells keep wanting to grow up to be Soylent Green…um I mean people. ESCR also has neo doctors Frankenstein and Mengele lined up for billion$$$$$$$$$$ of dollars in research money. Money, money, money. ESCR is what is being opposed and considered controversial.

Heck I won’t even eat meat, and they want me to approve of what now?

Well there’s a shocker. There really is no depth to which Limbaugh won’t stoop. The one upside is that even conservatives seem to have a bad taste in their mouths about this one. Apparently there are some things that even they can’t stomach – who knew?

this is soo far down in your blog that you probably won’t see it, but, friend, tammy duckworth is in michigan and claire mccaskill is in missouri. i do believe mj fox campaigned for both. MI (michigan) MO (missouri).

Oh, woops! Thanks for pointing out my mistake… but wait – now that I look up Tammy Duckworth, everything’s saying that she ran for office in Illinois. Total confusion! Claire McCaskill, however, is indeed in Missouri.
